Jobbeskrivelse

The Division of Civil and Environmental Engineering conducts research and teaching in marine and environmental engineering, water pollution, hydrology, urban pollution, and physical geography. The candidate is expected to have a background in environmental engineering, preferably with interdisciplinary experiences both in research and teaching. In specific, the candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Experience in grant acquisition and writing of project proposals.
  • Experience in leading research projects, interact with funding agencies and partners, as well as reporting in both English and preferably also Danish.
  • Solid knowledge of the occurrence and fate of emerging micropollutants in urban and aquatic environments, for instance, pharmaceuticals and microplastics.
  • Extensive experience in micropollutant research in the lab and the field, including for example organising sampling campaigns and developing and optimising analytical protocols for complex matrixes.
  • Experience with analytical instruments for micropollutant research, for instance, HPLC, FTIR, Raman, ICP.
  • Engineering skills coupled with inter-and transdisciplinary knowledge to tackle environmental problems in urban environments, for example in the context stormwater conveyance and nature-based solutions.
  • Teaching experience in urban hydrology, urban drainage, urban water pollution, and related topics.
  • Experience in supervising students at bachelor, master, as well as PhD level.

Qualification requirement

The candidate must have a PhD(or equivalent) in environmental engineering or a related field. The candidate must hold qualifications corresponding to the level, which can be achieved on the basis of the appointment as Assistant Professor, but may be achievable in other ways. The candidate must hold a competitive research track record. It is necessary that the candidate has a high proficiency in oral and written English. The candidate must also demonstrate a high level of original scientific production at an international level.

The applicant must have good interpersonal and communication skills, as the project is carried out in a well-balanced international work environment.
